Download of the Week: The Vignettes

‘Violence Solves Everything’ is the title of the new EP from Sydney duo The Vignettes, and it’s a pretty good encapsulation of their devil-may-care punk rock ethos and sound. The lead track ‘Hey Little Girl’ is a two and half minute foray into brash, choppy guitar riffs and vicious drumming, and it’s available for download here (right click and Save As).
The song takes on a whole new meaning when you realise it’s about a brush with transvestism inspired by the rumour that Lady Gaga is actually a man – or so The Vignettes claim on their MySpace.
