John Mayer Goes to Church
By Groupie | November 2, 2009
There are musicians who you might expect to perform in an old, sandstone church: a church choir, perhaps, or a local band looking for an off-kilter venue. There are also artists who you would specifically not expect to see at such a locale, such as Lady GaGa, or The All-American Rejects. But perform they did, as part of the Kia Soul Live at the Chapel series, hosted by Paddington’s Uniting Church. Go figure.
Wednesday November 4th will see another name added to this curious list, as John Mayer takes over the Chapel to deliver songs from his latest album, Battle Studies, ahead of its release on November 13th. Fans of the seven-time Grammy winner can visit http://www.liveatthechapel.com/ for a chance to win tickets to this intimate showcase, which will also mark the last performance in the series for the year.
Definitely a concept to keep an eye out for next year though – maybe a Live at the Aquarium! or Live at the Library! At the Laundromat! Listen to great music AND do your laundry!
